How we verify drone rules
This site tells you what applies before you take off. That means you should also know where the information comes from and how certain it is — not just read the answer.
Where the rules come from
Every country is based on what that country's own civil aviation authority publishes — not on other drone sites and not on roundups. The authority is named on each country page and the sources are linked at the bottom, so you can go to the original. Where a country publishes open zone data we pull it straight from the authority's map service; where no such data exists we say so instead of guessing.
How often they are checked
Zones and NOTAMs are fetched automatically and refresh daily. The rule texts themselves are checked by hand against the authority's page — that is the date you see on every country page. If a rule changes between two checks, the source link is always fresher than our text, which is exactly why it is there.
What the date means
"Rules verified" means someone read the authority's current page that day and compared it with our text. It does not mean the rules are unchanged since then. An old date is a reason to click through to the source — which is why we don't hide it.
What this site is not
This is not legal advice and not permission to fly. Responsibility for the flight is always the pilot's. Location decides more than the rules do: the same drone can be allowed on one side of a street and prohibited on the other. Always check the zone for the exact spot you are taking off from.
Found an error?
Write to us with the country and what is wrong, ideally with a link to the authority's page. Contact details are in the privacy policy linked at the foot of every page. Corrections come before everything else on this site — a wrong rule is worse than a missing one.
